Whenever you have new students you need a way to introduce yourself, and because you are an art teacher (or any other teacher) why not do it creatively! For this project, I was required to use 3 different mediums to make it look interesting; I then used the 3 different mediums to create a piece that described myself. The 3 mediums I chose were construction paper, markers, and cloth. I started this project by first outlines my foot on construction paper, and then began drawing and gluing on pieces that described me. When you begin introducing yourself to your kids, let them have fun by first trying to guess what all the pictures mean!
I put my name in the middle and made it a little bigger to draw attention, after-all this project is about the students getting to know me. I then began drawing. First a pig, because I absolutely love pigs! They are just so cute! The big blue line in the middle is suppose to represent the Missouri River and a little way from it is a silver dot to show where I live in South Dakota. I finished the project by describing my family, the places I used to work at, and other things that I enjoy doing.
